Schillaci: "With the new Pandemic Plan, a paradigm shift and transparent information"
(Vista Agency) Rome, February 26, 2025 "We have chosen to adopt a scientific approach, not alarmism but responsibility. The new pandemic plan represents a paradigm shift. Five concrete objectives: protecting public health, reducing the spread and mortality of infections, ensuring effective coordination between institutions, minimizing the impact on health and essential services, protecting the health of front-line health workers, actively involving citizens, with transparent information. The plan is not limited to good intentions, but clearly defines operational activities: strengthening prevention departments and local health authorities, virology laboratories, clear and balanced communication, without alarmism or stigmatization, restrictive measures only if indispensable, temporary and proportionate, national research and monitoring network, advanced early warning system, State-Regional coordination, integrated surveillance for respiratory pathogens. The plan establishes a precise scale of roles and responsibilities for all institutions, with a clear and effective chain of command in case of emergency. And all this is supported by concrete investments: 50 million for 2025, 150 million for 2026, 300 million for 2027". This is what Minister Schillaci said at Question Time in the Chamber.
